Still needed: CURRENT STUDENTS for CUIP Chgo Publ Schls technology assistants
Are you handy with computers and printers? Do you communicate well with elementary school teachers? You might enjoy working in a neighborhood Chicago Public School as an NSP / CUIP Tech!
Current registration as UofC student is required. (College and grad Divisions both okay.) Work-Study eligibility is preferred. Students without Work-Study are limited to 6 hours per week; with Work-Study, limited to 10 hours per week up to the annual award amount. The position pays $11.50 per hour.
CUIP (the Chicago Public Schools | University of Chicago Internet Project) is a small education-outreach organization at the University working at a group of CPS schools, mostly in the immediate vicinity of the University, to help them achieve goals of improving teaching and learning through technology. Most schools in the CUIP group are also served by the Neighborhood Schools Program, and in those schools Universty students can work as technology assistants, employed by NSP and with guidance and assistance from CUIP.
We have several vacancies for that NSP / CUIP Tech position for Autumn Quarter. An NSP / CUIP Tech works at a single school, visiting there preferably at least twice a week for a total of 6 to 10 hours, to perform maintenance and support activity (and once in a while more creative projects!) to meet the plans and needs of the school administration and teachers along with CUIP staff.
